SINCE one of Bolton Council’s most controversial decisions was to close the Market Hall in 2007 and lose its wealth of independent traders, it’s interesting that the same building is now welcoming some back.
The Market Place owners, Moorgarth, will be running markets once more in the Grade II listed building - a street food market with seating areas this month followed by an outdoor market in August.
This, along with the Mill Yard development of independent traders nearby, is good news for a town with very fond memories of its Market Hall. So good luck to this latest project.
