A RANGE Rover was smashed up after a car transporter crashed into a bridge on the M61.
The roof of the brand new vehicle was torn off as the transporter vehicle passed under a bridge near to Kearsley.
The driver told police he had forgotten to lower the deck.
A silver model was also damaged as a result of the crash yesterday morning at around 10.30am.
A spokesman for GMP Traffic said on Twitter: "A car transporter driver failed to lower the top deck and collided with a bridge.
"It resulted in turning this Range Rover into a none factory build convertible.
"The driver was reported for due care."
