THERE ain't nothing like a Dame – and Bolton has got two in tow!
St. Paul’s Players are doing a two for one on pantomime dames this month, and throwing in more than 40 children too.
The massive cast of youngsters will provide the magic of dance and song to the teams production of Cinderella.
Audiences are promised a plethora of fun in the show which comes to Adlington on December 30.
Taking up the ask of directing the youngsters and the adult cast is Graham Cohen.
He said: "We are always trying to make it better than last year as there is an expectation, so we want to make sure we can do it!
"You want to make sure it's told right and has got the right mix of comedy and make it interesting for the children so they are entertained throughout.
"It's a family pantomime with something for everyone, both adults and children.
"There's some pop songs in there that the youngsters can sing along too, slapstick and a classic ghost scene."
Taking on the starring role of the orphaned beauty who dreams of escaping life under her wicked stepmother and nasty stepsisters is Emily Jones as Cinderella.
She soon finds her Prince Charming in Orlaith All-Berne before the clock strikes 12 and she flees...leaving a single glass slipper behind.
Tormenting our heroine is Siobhan Edge as the Wicked Stepmother, who is joined by the two panto dames Dax Owen and Kirion Garlick as the Ugly Sisters.
Also providing a touch of panto fun and games will be Buttons, played by Gareth Mabon, and 42 youngsters aged from just six to 16.
Graham added:"A lot of societies have a limit on the number of children they have in a show but our thinking is, the more children we have, the more we are giving them an opportunity to perform.
"It also means we get to welcome a lot more mums, dads, aunties, uncle and grandparents to the shows.
"Last year was the first time we held a New Year's Eve performance, and both then and now it's proved really popular.
"The venue has 282 seats and already the New year's Eve show has only got 52 seats left!"
St. Paul’s Players – Adlington production of Cinderella runs on December 30, 2.15pm; December 31, 1pm; January 2 and 7, 2.15pm; and January 4 to 6, 7.30pm, at Adlington Community Centre in Railway Road. For tickets call 01204 407784.
