THE Bolton News has been chosen as one of the best daily newspapers in the North West.
The publication is shortlisted in the Newspaper of the Year category of this year’s O2 Media Awards North West.
Fellow nominees in the daily shortlist are the Lancashire Telegraph, Manchester Evening News and The Mail.
Ian Savage, editor in chief of The Bolton News said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in the Newspaper of the Year category. It reflects the hard work that goes into producing a daily newspaper of which we are all very proud.”
Director of corporate affairs at O2 Nicola Green, praised the volume and standard of entries as “unprecedented”.
She added: “Judges had the monumental task of selecting a shortlist from hundreds of exceptional portfolios.
“We want to thank all those, who by entering the competition each year, continue to make an O2 Award so highly prized in the media industry. We look forward to announcing the best of the best at the awards night in Manchester.”
Winners will be revealed at an awards presentation evening on November 9 at Manchester’s Ethiad Stadium hosted by BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin.
