RESIDENTS across Greater Manchester have been given the opportunity to see their face in lights.

As part of Salford Quays' annual digital light festival, organisers are on the hunt for portrait photos and 'places' from each of the city's 10 boroughs.

Quays Culture will portray 100 faces and places of Greater Manchester at Lightwaves 2017 - the UK's biggest digital light festival - as part of their programme of digital arts and culture.

The pictures will make up a large suspended structure, created in collaboration with Blackpool Illuminations, at Media City between December 8 and 17.

Portrait ideas for 100 Faces & Places of Greater Manchester include friends, family, young and old, shop owners or notable figures, while places can be anything from a street scene to school or iconic building.

The stills for the show will be selected by a panel from Quays Culture, and then illuminated to create a visual story of each borough: Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.

Individuals can enter up to three digital images, which should be a minimum of 300 Dpi.

Participants must also ensure they have the permission of those whose portraits they are submitting.

Images should be sent to art@quaysculture.com by November 6, 2017.
