MOTORISTS are being warned of weeks of overnight closures when work to improve a town centre road starts next Monday.
Folds Road will be resurfaced, in both directions, from its junction with Turton Street to Kay Street. The work will be undertaken overnight from 8pm to 6am.
For the first fortnight, the inbound section of Folds Road, from Tonge Moor to Bolton, will be closed.
Once that section is completed, the outbound lane will then close for approximately two weeks.
Bolton Council’s cabinet member for highways, Cllr David Chadwick, said: “We have timed the work to place overnight in an effort to keep disruption to minimum.
“I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and we would also like to thank motorists, residents and businesses for their patience and co-operation.”
