WE continue our tour around the streets of Bolton with some old views of Hotel Street.
Now pedestrianised, this busy thoroughfare off Victoria Square has undergone many changes over the years, not least the addition of a flyover for delivery vehicles to access Marks and Spencer and shops in Crompton Way shopping centre.
Some of the shops should bring back memories for our readers, including Timspons on the site currently occupied by Barclays Bank. Elsewhere, we see the former Bolton Evening News offices on the corner of Hotel Street and Mealhouse Lane, as well as a tight spot for the Woolworth’s lorry.
