A DRIVER fled the scene of a crash that closed a road and left a person in hospital.
Police were called at around midnight today to the junction of Oriel Street and Deane Road to the crash involving three cars.
A blue Vauxhall Polo, a Blue Toyota Prius and an unknown third car were all involved in the smash.
The third car left the scene before emergency services arrived.
A man, who had been travelling in the Vauxhall, suffered neck and spine injuries in the crash.
He had to be cut out of his car by the fire service and was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Prius was checked over by paramedics at the scene but was not badly injured.
Tony McKenna, watch manager at Bolton Central fire station, said that the police were still at the scene when firefighters left at around 1am.
The road had to be closed for a number of hours as the crash had blocked the entire road.
