Residents have raised concerns about the 60mph road and the amount of mud that gathers there from surrounding farms.
A Lancashire County Council spokesman said that staff attended in the aftermath of the crash to clear debris from the road and also clear up the mud.
Residents have said the road is often 'caked with mud' and have raised concerns as it is quite busy with people going through from Blackrod as they head towards Rivington.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council, said: "Our highways team removed mud and debris from Grimeford Lane on Wednesday 27 September after someone called to report an accident.
"The road was cleared quickly and reopened within two and a half hours."
