A SIX-year-old boy had to be taken to hospital after he was hit by a car.
Police were called to Tonge Moor Road, near to The Starkie Arms pub, shortly after 6pm on Tuesday, September 26.
The boy suffered injuries to his head and legs and was taken to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Police were forced to close the road for around two hours and diverted traffic while they dealt with the incident.
Eyewitnesses reported a number of police vehicles and officers at the scene.
