POLICE have released an image of a man that they want to speak to after an elderly woman was robbed in Bolton.
The woman had been walking along Nut Street at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, July 12 when she heard footsteps approaching from behind, according to police.
When she turned to see who was following her, a man grabbed her shopping bag and put his hand on her shoulder.
She then fell over and hit her head, while the man ran off in another direction.
Detective Constable David Abram of GMP’s Bolton Borough, said: “The man robbed and abandoned this elderly woman with a head injury, leaving her in pain on the floor.
“We have released an image of a man we wish to speak to, and are asking for anyone who can help us identify him to please get in touch.
“If you were in the area at the time and saw something that seemed unusual, I’m asking for you to come forward and help with our investigation.”
