THESE photos showcase the major transformation that a busy town centre street has undergone in recent years.
Camera Club member Bernard Bradley captured these images of Great Moor Street during the building of Bolton’s newly-opened £48 million transport interchange and the Bolton Central office block.
Demolition work began in December, 2013, and the final building to be reduced to rubble was the old Cash Store, on the corner of Newport Street and Great Moor Street, in January, 2014.
The interchange, which replaces the old Moor Lane bus station, opened earlier this month, connecting the town’s bus and rail services. The adjacent offices have been taken over by the University of Bolton, to be used as its institute of management.
