BOLTON’S biggest employment and training event is back next week.
More than 2,500 jobseekers are expected to descend on Bolton College next Thursday for the town’s annual Jobs and Skills Fair.
Around 70 employers — offering approximately 3,000 job opportunities between them — are expected to be at the event.
New Government figures released last week showed that there were 5,735 people in the borough who claimed unemployment benefits in August — an increase of 55 from July.
The fair, which will run from 10am to 3pm at the college’s Deane Road campus, will be followed by the ‘Futures 4 Me’ event for Year 11 students and their parents.
The session for schoolchildren will highlight the options available to them when they finish secondary school and takes place between 3.30pm and 7pm.
