TWO vehicles were involved in a collision near Middlebrook on Sunday afternoon.
Police and ambulance crews and Bolton Mountain Rescue, who are based nearby, were called to De Havilland Way at around 5pm.
A lane of the dual carriageway was closed whilst casualties were treated and the vehicles were removed from the scene but a second remained open during that time.
It is thought that occupants of the cars were injured and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The extent of their injuries is not known.
Two cars were involved in the collision and one is thought to have hit a tree near Mansell Way.
The closed lane of the dual-carriageway was reopened soon after the ambulances had taken away the injured people and the damaged vehicles had been removed.
