MOTORISTS can expect major delays around Bromley Cross over two weekends due to resurfacing works along a long stretch of a busy road.
‘Patching’ work will be carried out on Darwen Road from its junction with Blackburn Road to Rose Hill Drive, next to the Co-op, on September 24 and October 1.
Sections of Darwen Road will be closed at various stages of the work and the council has warned that access to homes and businesses will be limited.
Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for highways, Cllr David Chadwick, said: “We understand that this is going to cause disruption but this work is really needed to improve the condition of this road.
“The road will remain open except for the parts that are being worked on but this is still likely to cause some congestion.
“We have timed the work to take place on Sundays as we appreciate the impact it will have on the community.
“We would really like to thank motorists, businesses and residents for their patience while work is underway.”
