PEOPLE living near the rail line at Moses Gate say they are still having to put up with late-night disruption.
Trains began running through Moses Gate after the August Bank Holiday and the station itself has also reopened.
Residents had hoped this meant the end of electrification work which has been going on for the last two years, causing noise and traffic problems.
But they say that while rail-users may have cause to celebrate, their problems remain unchanged.
Michelle Fitton, who lives in Ivanhoe Court, close to the railway access point on Ivanhoe Street. said: “It’s still just as bad as it’s always been, it’s just ridiculous. They could’ve done things a lot differently which would’ve made the work they are doing a little bit more tolerable, but they haven’t.”
A spokesperson for Network Rail said the 'essential work' could not take place during the day due to the affect it would have on train services. They added that residents had been sent letters informing them work would continue overnight until October 21.
