TWO care home residents recently celebrated their 101st birthday together.
Friends, family and staff at Beechville Care Home in Lostock, held a party for Janie Brady and Ellen Farrimond, who turned 101 on August 2 and August 30 respectively.
The organisers put on a show for the pair and then had what was described as a 'fantastic party' in the evening.
Care home activity co-ordinator Diana Bellusci said: "Both ladies have lived through the decades of jazz, the war, rock and roll, the swinging 60s, 70s and the rest.
"They have seen so many changes in the world and had so many different fashions."
According to the care home, both ladies do exercises twice a week as well as flower arrangements, crafts and 'enjoying life to the full'.
Ms Bellusci said: "Both ladies are very special and its an honour to be part of there lives."
