A THIEF who stole a games console in order to feed a drug addiction has been jailed for 18 weeks.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Lee Thomas, aged 31, of no fixed address, had denied stealing the Playstation 3, worth £75, from Ben Gammage on February 4.

But, following a trial, he was found guilty and jailed.

Magistrates heard he had committed the offence whilst on licence and Thomas admitted failing to surrender to court.

In addition to the prison sentence Thomas was ordered to pay £37.50 compensation and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.
