A MAN was hit by a taser and taken to hospital after police were called to Lostock on Thursday morning.
The 29-year-old was found with a knife in Chorley New Road and was in a distressed state.
Officers responded to reports of concern for his welfare and attended shortly after 2am.
During the incident the man was tasered by police and then taken to hospital for treatment.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances around this incident.
