A MASSIVE new housing estate could be built in Atherton.
Proposals to build 830 homes to the west of Leigh Road and Bee Fold Lane and to the east of Millers Lane have been submitted to Wigan Council by Tarleton Estates.
The plans will be worrying for residents concerned about other major developments planned nearby, such as Peel Holdings’ proposals for a 1,000-home estate and championship golf course at Hulton Park.
