A TOP author found her name on the best selling list while on a visit to Bolton yesterday.
Cathy Bramley was just about to step into host a talk at the central library when she was declared number in eight in the Sunday Times best selling authors list.
The former head of her own marketing agency has just released her latest book The Lemon Tree Cafe.
She said: “It is a dream come true! Really it is every author’s goal to make the Sunday times top ten, and I am number eight with my seventh paperback.
“I have only been writing less than four years so I’m really thrilled!”
Cathy, who lives in Nottinghamshire, first started writing after she was inspired by Jenny Colgan’s book Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe and self-published her first book.
She has since become a full-time writer of light-hearted romantic fiction with a catalogue of popular novels including Ivy Lane, Appleby farm, Conditional Love, Wickham Hall and The Plumberry School Of Comfort Food.
She was in Bolton yesterday to discuss her new novel and sign copies for fans.
She adds: “It has never been about being a best selling writer but creating books that have a positive message and speak to people.
“One of my books was about seizing the day and a reader told me it made them try new things. I felt really happy about that.
“The reader experience I create should be one of happiness and that’s more important than being top ten.”
