A CAR being pursued by police drove the wrong way down the A666 and M61 as it attempted to escape.
Police spotted the car last night and pursued it onto the A666.
The driver then decided to drive southbound on the northbound A666 before going onto the M61.
The driver then lost control of the car and ran from the car.
Officers made the decision not to follow the car the wrong way down the motorway so enquiries are ongoing.
A picture shows the Ford abandoned in a layby near junction two at Kearsley for the A580 and M60.
