A WOMAN is facing prison after admitting causing the death of a father-of-two in a crash on Tonge Moor Road.

Mental health support worker, Violeta Taraskevic, of Brierwood, Bolton, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Ian Wilcox in the crash on Tonge Moor Road by careless driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

She denied causing his death by dangerous driving but admitted the alternative plea at Bolton Crown Court this morning.

The 34-year-old was driving a BMW 530 when it was involved in a collision with Mr Wilcox's Chevrolet Matiz at around 5.15am on August 7 this year.

The court this morning heard how she had 68 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35.

Judge Timothy Stead said that it was inevitable that Miss Taraskevic would face an immediate custodial sentence.

Mr Wilcox, aged 42, who lived in Harwood with wife Cathryn and two young daughters, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly died.

Friends and family paid tribute to him in the aftermath of the crash and flowers were left at the scene of the incident.

Miss Taraskevic will be sentenced at 2pm today once a pre-sentence report as been prepared.
