YOUNGSTERS said goodbye to the summer holidays and embarked upon their first day of school.
Primary schools across the borough welcomed a new intake of eager pupils yesterday.
Over at Gaskell Primary, reception students got used to their new surroundings and enjoyed some fun classroom activities.
There was even an early chance to try out potential career paths with some construction play and doll hairdressing.
And drizzle couldn’t deter new friends exploring the great outdoors in the playground.
Our photographers will be visiting classrooms across Bolton over the coming weeks, so look out for your child’s school in the paper.
We’re also publishing our annual School’s In picture gallery and want the best snaps of your little ‘uns as they make their way to class for the first day of term.
Just send a picture of your child in their school uniform ready for school and include their full name, age and school attending. We’ll add the pictures we receive to a bumper online gallery and a selection of the best images will also be used in the Bolton News. Send your pictures via email to webdesk@theboltonnews.co.uk on Facebook via facebook.com/theboltonnews or tweet us on Twitter @TheBoltonNews
