YOU have come out fighting in favour of our terrific town!
Readers have been telling us why they love Bolton so much in response to an article in the Guardian newspaper describing it as a ‘nothing of a town’.
Sarah Longlands and three pals were so annoyed that they started a social media campaign, which the Bolton News is backing, to promote all that is good in the borough.
Beautiful architecture, the people, the countryside, Smithills Hall and the parks are some of the reasons why people have told us they love the town.
Since launching the campaign, people have been taking to social media to share what they think is great about Bolton. And judging by their comments, there is plenty to celebrate.
Bolton Lives wrote: “Because Bolton has some truly beautiful architecture. #reasonsilovebolton #lemanscrescent #cheadlesquare #bolton #architecture #ilovebolton”.
Christine Murphy stated: “ #Reasonsilovebolton beautiful countryside on your doorstep. @VisitBolton walks”.
And it’s not just the place that make the town a special place to live, as Kelly Warriner explained: “And most of all - the people - caring, funny and will welcome anyone with a cup of tea #reasonsilovebolton”.
Emma Corless said: “Smithills Hall, beautiful building, @BoltonLMS @OurBolton #ReasonsILoveBolton”.

“New Nature,Art&Egypt galleries coming to @BoltonLMS 2018! #Reasonsilovebolton”.
Mark Attwood said: “ #reasonsilovebolton. The beautiful Queens Park.”
Taking to The Bolton News Facebook page, Joanne Harper wrote urged people to celebrate what Bolton had to offer them.
She stated: “Stop moaning! Stop looking back. Great people. Great architecture. Lovely parks. Amazing people doing fantastic charity work. Best bread ever haha. So Bolton has had a slump so has the rest of the world. Look forward. Get out there & help.”
