THERE are more than 4,000 empty homes in Bolton.
Cllr Elaine Sherrington revealed at a council meeting on Wednesday that the current number — which includes second homes — stands at 4,147. ]
However, that does represent a decrease of 1,319 over the past three years.

Cllr Sherrington said that the council had ‘a long way to go’ tackling this issue and that she hoped the number of empty homes could one day be in single figures.
She also praised a recently-announced scheme to renovate Bolton’s longest-standing empty home, which has been vacant since 1993.
