A DRIVER was found behind the wheel of a car with a two-year-old child as a passenger while over the legal limit for drug driving.
Traffic police pulled the Vauxhall over in Tonge Moor Road on Monday night.
Officers initially stopped the car due the 2-year-old not being restrained.
Once officers had pulled the car over they also found that the driver had no insurance and when he was tested was found to be over the limit for drug driving.
All children aged 3 and below must us an appropriate child restraint when travelling in any car.
If a child is not wearing a seatbelt or is not in the correct car seat, the driver of the vehicle can be fined up to £500.
It is illegal to get behind the wheel of a car if you have certain levels of illegal drugs in your blood even if they have not affected your driving or if you are unfit to drive because of legal or illegal drugs.
Someone who is convicted of drug driving could face a minimum one-year driving ban, an unlimited fine and up to six months in prison.
