A CHILD was seriously injured when he was hit by a car while riding his bike.
Police were called at around 6.55pm on Monday to Montserrat Road in Halliwell to reports of a collision.
The 11-year-old child was riding his pushbike when he was hit by the Ford Focus.
The child was taken to Manchester Children's Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said that the boy suffered multiple injuries including to his head and his leg.
The road was blocked as a result of the crash but later reopened and no arrests have been made.
