POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a collision left a motorcyclist with serious injuries in Bolton.
An orange Nissan Note collided with an orange Kawasaki motorbike as it turned right into a driveway just before 5pm on Saturday evening.
The Nissan was travelling north along Crompton Way and, as it slowed down and started to turn right into the driveway, it crossed the southbound carriageway and collided with the motorbike travelling the opposite way.
The rider of the motorbike, a 28-year-old man, came off the bike and collided with parked cars. He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the car, a 74-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
PC Anthony Pye of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “My thoughts remain with the man and his family at this difficult time.
“It’s a busy road at a busy time of day, so I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or who has dash-cam footage, to get in touch with police, so we can establish exactly what happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, 101 quoting incident number 1643 26/08/17, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
