Northern Rail has announced that its trains will not run through Bolton from Monday until further notice.
The train operator posted the announcement this evening informing customers that it could not run a service on the Bolton line from Monday.
CONFIRMED: Road and rail chaos caused by burst water main will last for up to SIX WEEKS
It read: “Due to a burst water main and subsequent damage to a railway bridge near Moses Gate station, no services can run through Bolton until further notice.”
A replacement bus service is in operation and passengers can find details at northernrailway.co.uk/improvements.
The embankment at Moses Gate collapsed following a water burst near the station last week and closured of the bridge which takes traffic on Bolton Road across the tracks.
