TWO new pubs are hoping to raise the bar as they started serving customers this week.
The Brass Cat in Churchgate closed in January for a major refurbishment and reopened this week under a new name, The Churchgate
As well as this, the Pine Tree Farm pub opened at Logistics North in Over Hulton opened its doors.
The Green King pub is just one part of the major expansion that is currently ongoing at the employment hub, the largest of its kind in the North West.
Pine Tree Farm is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a wide selection of pub classics and traditional roast dinners from its daily carvery.
It is being run by husband and wife team Chris and Clare Elliot.
Mr Elliot said that they have enjoyed a busy first week.
He said: "It has been incredibly busy I think it would be very fair to say.
"Considering we have not advertised or anything it has been pretty full on. We have had lots and lots of customers in. We have served about 1,000 meals a day so far."
The Churchgate had its grand opening on Wednesday and is being run by a group of local businessmen.
It now has a stage for music nights, including Northern Soul events, and a DJ booth.
The pub also boasts 13 televisions for live sport and a wide range of cask ales as well as a gin menu.
The Churchgate also serves food.
