SHARPLES High School pupils are reaching for the stars.
A group of pupils have passed their astronomy GCSE at the age of just 13. They studied for the qualification after joining the astronomy club. All passed.
The school’s highest achievers — Azeem Ali Diveli and Aiman Ibrahim — have their eye on a medical career after getting top results. Aiman gained six A*s 1A, and one 9, two eights.
Aiman said: “i feel great, it is a weight of my shoulders. I had worked hard but I did get nervous the night before.
Ann Webster, head. said: “This is our first GCSE astronomy cohort. They made fulluse of our excellent science facilities including our observatory.”
