RELIEVED students at Kearsley Academy collected their results — including two aspiring performers.
Ellie Greenwood and Mia Aspinall were two of the pupils who opened their envelopes with delight as the school recorded a 12 per cent improvement in its GCSE results.
Ellie got one A*s, two As, two Bs and five Cs.
She said: "I was so shocked with how well I did. In the maths paper I was crying my eyes out but I have come out with an A.
"I just wanted to say that I can not thank the teachers enough. They gave us all the resources we needed.
"We are all so grateful."
Ellie plans on going to Salford City College to study creative music performance.
She said: "I have always had a passion for the piano and I thought I would like to do performance. I like showing off."
Mia got five A*s, three As, two Bs and two Cs.
She said: "I was really proud of myself for working so hard. The exams were alright, we were prepared for them because we have down a lot of mock exams since year eight or nine."
She is going to college in September to study drama, to pursue her dream to become a film actor.
