I'm trying to trace any descendant living in the Westhoughton or Bolton area of two Cornish families namely Martin.
Father Benjamin and son Thomas settled in adjoining house's Wearish Lane, Westhoughton in the mid 1870s.
Benjamin and wife Elizabeth together with five children all born in Liskeard Cornwall.
Son Thomas and wife Mary Ann, had six children, Benjamin (b. 1878), Elizabeth (b. 1879), William (b. 1882), Thomas (b. 1883), Caroline (b. 1889), John (b. 1891), all in Westhoughton.
Benjamin son of Thomas Martin aged 23 married Mary Sharrock on January 26, 1901 at St Bartholomews Parish Church.
William aged 23 married Elizabeth Partington April 4, 1904 also at St Bartholomews Parish Church.
All the male members of the families were formerly lead miners in the years up to the early 1900s, and seem to have worked as coal miners at the Hewlett Pit Hart Common, a short distance from Wearish Lane.
