PROUD parents looked on as dinosaurs raced alongside the likes of Harry Potter and Donald Trump during the Bolton School Junior Boys Fancy Dress Fun Run.
Thousands of pounds has already been pledged for five charitable causes as nearly 200 pupils dressed up in their favourite costumes for the annual event on Friday.
As well as raising money for the four chosen charities, Cash4Kidz, Derian House, Dementia UK and Parkinsons UK, pupils and staff went around with buckets on the day and collected £500 for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
For the fun run itself, the lads paired up and took it in turns to run laps of the school’s track.
Not only did they raise thousands for charity, but it was a good chance for lads to celebrate the end of their SATs exams.
John Newbould, head of marketing at Bolton School, said: “It is one of those events where everyone gets together and the boys have a lot of fun after the SATs and blow off a lot of steam.
“But there is another point to this as well — they are doing something for charity and obviously that is something the school prides itself on.
“It teaches the children the importance of helping others.”
Staff have yet to count the money that has been collected but Mr Newbould said the school usually gets close to £10,000.
Park Road Juniors posted a message on its Twitter profile thanking everyone who had supported the event.
