JAMIE Moore has revealed the heartache of seeing his world title dreams being shattered - once again.
The Walkden warrior has been forced to withdraw from tonight's WBC international title fight against South Africa's Vincent Vuma due to a viral infection.
Victory at Robin Park would have seen the British light-middleweight propelled into the organisation's top six - and, finally, put him in line for a world title shot.
But this setback, the latest in a long line which has seen the 28-year-old's career stagnate in the last two years, has left Moore at an all-time low.
"I'm absolutely devastated," he admitted. "It's just one of those things but it's so frustrating. I was feeling rough two weeks ago. I went back into training, but I just didn't feel right and I can't afford to take the risk at this stage of my career.
"I just want big fights now but I've been saying that for the last two years, and I'm getting more and more frustrated that nothing is happening.
"People keep promising me the big fights, but they're just not delivering."
Moore's frustration at his lack of progress has prompted him to consider moving up a weight in a bid to secure a world title shot.
More likely, however, the Lonsdale Belt holder could be take on the winner of tomorrow night's European title clash between Frenchman Hussein Bayran and Zaurbek Baysangarov of Russia on Germany.
Moore, ranked third in Europe, should, in theory, next in line for the Euro crown but any fight could take up to six months to come to fruition, meaning he may be forced to make a mandatory defence of his British belt in the interim against Andrew Facey on October 26.
The southpaw is understandably loathed to go down that route, especially after demolishing the same opponent nearly four years ago.
"It's not a fight I really want because I've beaten him once already, but If nothing else is sorted then I'll have to fight because I need to put food on the table. But I hope I can get a big fight in September now. If I can get a world title eliminator, I'd give up the British belt and move on - like I've been wanting to do for the last 18 months."
