THIS year is The Bolton News’ 150th anniversary and our Design a Cake competition has really sparked the imagination of our younger readers.
Entrants were required to create a design to incorporate the 150th theme in the format of a front page of the newspaper.
The winning design will be printed on icing on top of the cake baked especially by Bolton bakers Greenhalgh’s. The cake will be given to the winner to share with his or her school.
Since we launched the competition last month we have received a spectacular number of entries from Bolton’s young designers.
The competition was open to children and schools from across the borough with one age category, four to 11.
As well as the cake, the winner will receive a toy bundle from The Entertainer store.
Now we are asking readers to vote for the design they like the best out of all the entries printed over the following 13 pages.
To vote for the design of your choice, simply complete the coupon on this page and send it to Design a Cake Competition, The Bolton News, The Wellsprings, Civic Centre, Bolton, BL1 1AR by April 13.
Only original coupons will be accepted. The winner will be the one who receives the most votes.
To vote online, email lisa.schofield@nqnw.co.uk with Bolton Design a Cake in the subject line and include the name and age of the child you are nominating. Only one vote will be accepted from each email address.
