WANDERERS are reporting unprecedented demand for discounted tickets to Saturday’s clash with Chesterfield.
Phones at the Macron have been ringing around the clock as supporters snap up £5 seats in the home section of the ground.
The club is advising any supporters who have not already booked their seats to do so early, using the online and print-at-home option if possible to avoid the match-day queues.
The town has caught the promotion buzz – and that is also reflected in the travelling support, with more than 500 fans are also expected to make the 500-mile round trip to Southend on Tuesday night for the game which was called off because of a frozen pitch earlier this year.
Wanderers are reporting that nearly all the 2,144 allocation for next weekend’s crucial game at Scunthorpe United have now been sold, while more than 2,000 tickets have already been shifted for the lunchtime kick-off against Oldham Athletic on April 15.
On the pitch, Phil Parkinson has food for thought after the confirmation that Ben Alnwick will miss the rest of the season with medial knee ligament damage.
It is hoped Andy Taylor’s calf injury will not keep him sidelined for more than a fortnight, while a close eye will also be kept on Gary Madine, who damaged his thigh at Shrewsbury.
Chris Long and Max Clayton are standing by to replace the strike if he is unable to take the field against the Spireites.
Mark Beevers believes Wanderers have the squad depth to cope with Alnwick and Taylor’s absence this weekend.
“I think we have, 100 per cent,” he told The Bolton News. “You can look at the bench and there are players who can come straight in.
“A lot of the lads have been carrying knocks, myself included, but we want to get ourselves out there just to get into that starting 11.
“We want to be part of something special, which hopefully is what it will be at the end of the season, and we’ll be giving everything for the fans to get promotion.”
