RIVINGTON and Blackrod High School is now a Government flagship academy school having been given the green light by the Secretary for State for Education
The school in Horwich will become part of the Leverhulme Academy Church of England and Community Trust along with Harper Green School in Farnworth.
The move comes after nine months of consultation and preparation for the change in the school’s status.
The schools says that the move is a “new and exciting chapter” in its history and allow for “greater collaboration with other partners” to ensure the provision of highest quality education.
