A MOTOCYCLIST has revealed he is half the man he used to be - and he’s happy about it!

Duanne Hall is now sitting much prettier on his bike after losing 11 and a half stones.

The 44-year-old admitted always carrying a bit of extra weight but after a motorbike accident in North Yorkshire he rocketed to over 26 stones.

Eventually he was warned, if he did not lose weight, his injuries would never fully heal.

Joining Weight Watchers in July, 2013, just under three years later he achieved his goal of slimming down to 15 stones and dropping nearly five clothes sizes.

He said: “I had the motorbike accident a few years ago. There was a car on the wrong side of the road and it hit the bike head on.

“I got a crush injury on my leg. The injuries I had wouldn’t get better because of the weight. Then something clicked and I decided to sort myself out.

“I just wanted to give it a real good go. Looking back, I’ve done something amazing. It has changed my life.”

After joining the group at Mercury Hotel in Westhoughton, Duanne went from a “terrible” diet of fast food and takeaways to healthy home cooking.

On top of a healthy diet, he does not let a full-time job get in the way of attending the gym every day. The dramatic transformation has not just seen him drop from a 58 inch waist to 38, but has also improved his health as he no longer needs to take blood pressure tablets.

He added: “The group is so amazing and relaxed, everyone is really friendly.

“Initially I just wanted to get to 20 stones but I just kept going.

“It has been quite a journey and I’m going to continue to my healthy weight thanks to the support of the group.”

Duanne has amazed family and friends - inspiring others to sign up to the weight loss club - with his transformation.

However, some of the biggest support has come from his group leader Claire Ball who has praised his ‘can do’ attitude.

She said: “Duanne is an absolute inspiration to others.

“I’m so glad he has shared his story as he has been so shy about it.

“It is especially important with him being a man, as the number of men who go to weight loss clubs is not that great, so it shows others what can be achieved.”

THE DIET

BEFORE: Mainly fast food and takeaways. The list includes, pizza, kebabs, Chinese and Indian. Duanne admits his weekly shop “wasn’t that healthy either” with no knowledge of what was a healthy options.

AFTER: Home cooking. Duanne still enjoys Chinese and Indian but this time it is cooked up in his own kitchen with healthy ingredients and watching portion sizes.
