THE fire service is urging people to take care when cooking after attending a kitchen fire on Tuesday night.
Fire engines from across Bolton were called to a blaze in a microwave in Gas Street, Bolton, at 5.19pm.
A packet of noodles had been left cooking unattended in a microwave and the fire had burnt itself out by the time crews arrived.
A 71-year-old resident was given oxygen after suffering slight smoke inhalation.
Area Manager Tony Hunter, from the fire service, said: βIt is easy to become complacent and distracted. Never leave cooking unattended.β
