A MENTAL health patient died in his hospital room within a quarter of an hour of speaking to members of staff, an inquest heard.
Stephen Leach, aged 25, who lived in Netherton Grove, Farnworth, died on August 14 2016 at the Meadowbrook Unit of Salford Royal Hospital, according to police coroner's officer for Bolton, Rebecca Gardner.
Leach was a Section 3 voluntary patient receiving 15 minute observations on the ward at the hospital in Pendleton.
He had been admitted after his parents became concerned that he was not taking his prescribed regular medication.
After a brief conversation with staff, Leach was found unresponsive in his room approximately 15 minutes later.
Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Leach’s death and no third party involvement.
The inquest has been adjourned until March 23 2017 when it will be heard at Bolton Coroner’s Court.
