A BOLTON beauty queen is hoping to scoop a world title as she competes in a worldwide swimsuit competition.
Kendal O’Reilly was crowned Miss Swimsuit UK earlier this year at a competition in Manchester and now she has flown to the Dominican Republic to compete against other models to be named Miss Swimsuit USA International.
The 25-year-old from Lostock has been modelling for 10 years after she was scouted in the airport whilst going on a family holiday but this is the first time that she has reached a world final.
Kendal is competing against 69 other women from countries across the world.
She said: “It is going really well and the itinerary is really jam packed.
“The girls here are absolutely amazing, they are some of the most beautiful girls I have seen.
“It is tough competition and I have prepared myself to come here and take it all in and enjoy the experience no matter what the result.
“For more just being part of a huge show representing the UK is already winning.”
The contestants are marked throughout their week’s stay at a luxury hotel on their personality before the catwalk finale on Saturday.
Kendal will have to model her swimwear and eveningwear in the show, something they have been rehearsing for all week.
Kendal said she has been working hard to get in shape for the event.
The former St Joseph’s RC High School pupil added: “I have been working hard with my trainer and doing lots of training.
“I love modelling and especially fitness and promotional modelling because of my experience as a yoga teacher.
“However, just as important as that is utilising my role and exposure to raise money for charities.
“I am raising money for Derian House because it is a charity that is very close to my heart having first hand experiences with friends and family h
Organiser of Miss Swimsuit UK Verena Twigg said: “I 100% think that Kendal can win the world title.
“She can bring it home for Bolton.”
Kendal is raising money for Derian House Childrens Hospice by doing a sponsored zip wire, to sponsor her visit www.virignmoneygiving.com
