THE INCREDIBLE edible garden in Tottington has had a much needed tidy up.
Organisers asked for volunteers to come and help clear up the vegetable, fruit and herb beds on Station Yard, just off the Kirklees Trail in Tottington.
Although the beds are usually kept neat and tidy they had not had a proper tidy up in a while.
Within a couple of hours the beds and the sensory garden near Tottington Library had had an overhaul.
Everything was weeding and cut back and a couple of beds were completely cleared to allow planting of beans, carrots and lettuce.
Cllr Judith Kelly said: "We had advertised the clear up to our members and it was brilliant to see new volunteers including children come along and make the area look loved again.
"Anyone is welcome to help themselves to what is grown and we often see people collecting produce to cook with.
"It is really satisfying nipping out to cut the herbs you need rather than buying them packaged at the supermarket.
"The volunteers are vital, without them there wouldn't be any produce to collect."
There will be more clear up sessions in the future and anyone is welcome to join.
