THE internet can be a dark place – online trolls and commenters who really should step away from the keyboard.
But one young man, from Leigh, sent the internet into a frenzy of cuteness when he posted a screenshot of a Google search made by his 85-year-old nan.
Ben Eckersley, of Brentwood Grove, (pictured above) wrote on Twitter: “Omg opened my Nan's laptop and when she's googled something she's put 'please' and 'thank you'. I can't” - along with crying laughing emojis.
The 25-year-old, who goes by the name Ben John online, accompanied his tweet with a screen shot of his grandmother's Google search which read: 'Please translate these roman numerals mcmxcviii thank you.'

Many Twitter users were overcome by his grandma's politeness, leaving messages of support in praise of her.

@Push10Ben @TheMichaelMoran One of the most British things I've ever seen. Bless her.

Is this the most endearing search engine request you are ever likely to see? Beats the usual queries anyway….
