LADYBRIDGE strengthened their position in third place in West Lancashire League Division One following a 10th win of the season.
Their game was switched from Lytham's home pitch, which was waterlogged, to Bridge's all-weather surface, and was the only league match involving a local side to take place in the top three divisions.
There were two matches played in the cups, however, with Turton winning 3-0 at Wyre Villa in the second round of the Presidents Cup and Stoneclough claiming a 2-0 victory at Croston Sports in the opening round of the Challenge Cup.
With Division One leaders Turton in cup action, Bridge closed the gap at the top, moving three behind their local rivals, who have six games in hand, and level on points with second-placed Burscough Richmond.
"We weren't at our best but the lads dug in and ground out a result," said Ladybridge manager Dave Walker.
"We still have quite a few players out through injury so it was good to get the three points and a win."
Walker's men looked more at home in the opening exchanges, Sam Parkinson missing an early chance after being sent clear by a great through-ball from Harry Brazel.
Parkinson then also hit the post before Brazel broke the deadlock from close range on 30 minutes.
Lytham hit back on the stroke of half time when slack marking allowed their striker, Rob Nunnen, to head home.
Ross Ellison scored the winner for Ladybridge 15 minutes after the break, heading home Elliot Waugh's corner.
Turton rattled in three goals after the break following a goalless first half in their cup victory at Wyre Villa.
Kieron Sissons broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart, before a double from Ali Dixon secured the win.
Sam Brooks also scored a brace in Stoneclough's cup victory, firing them in front after 14 minutes before doubling their advantage two minutes after the break.
There was no play for local sides in the Lancashire Amateur League and Manchester League and only one game played in the BSF Over-35s.
Radcliffe Old Boys A won their second-round Sam Ashworth Cup tie against North Walkden 6-5 on penalties after the match finished 3-3 after normal time.
Goals in normal time from Radcliffe's Paul Lloyd, Paul Bentley and Marvin Brown were cancelled out but a double from Paul Whealing, including a spectacular overhead kick, and a strike from Pietro Carino.
Meanwhile, Bolton United will be hoping it is second-time lucky as they bid to make it through to the final of the Lancashire Amateur Cup.
Sal Docky's side are due to play Bury GSOB in the last four at Chorley FC tomorrow night after the original fixture was rained off last Wednesday.
