JUSSI Jaaskelainen wants to secure a new four-year deal with the Wanderers.

The fact that the highly-rated Finland goalkeeper's contract expires next summer has already been noted outside of the Reebok Stadium, and it is understood newly-promoted Sunderland have tabled an offer, believed to be £2million, which was dismissed out of hand.

Jaaskelainen believes he should be rewarded for loyal service to Bolton, who will be playing in the UEFA Cup against next season.

One of the top shot-stoppers in the Barclays Premiership, he will chalk up 10 years at the club in November and a testimonial could be a possibility.

However Jaaskelainen insists that at 32 his best years are still ahead of him and that his next deal will be the most important of his career.

Bolton's new boss Sammy Lee is keen to retain his best players after succeeding Sam Allardyce.

And Jaaskelainen's experience could prove crucial in the coming European campaign.

While talks are on-going between club and player there is no sign of an agreement as yet.

Jaaskelainen's season has not finished yet as he is in the Finland squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Serbia and Belgium on June 2 and 6. Meanwhile Iranian midfielder Andranik Teymourian has claimed that although Arsenal are interested in him, he is going nowhere.

The 24 year-old joined Wandererslast summer after a good showing at the World Cup.

After a slow start, he impressed in the Premiership in the second half of the season.

"A number of English teams such as Arsenal have shown an interest in me, but since I am under contract with Bolton, I will not be negotiating with any team," Teymourian told Iran Sports Press. The former Abu Moslem star also insisted that the departure of manager Sam Allardyce to Newcastle United will not affect him.

"He was a great coach who suddenly left Bolton. I will continue to train with motivation and give my best and I am not paying attention to managerial issues.

"Sammy Lee is a good coach and he has a good relationship with me. I don't feel that my position is endangered by the appointment of Sammy Lee because he believes in my abilities."
