A FORMER Scout leader from Bolton has admitted two indecent assaults on a young boy.
Ian Beeby, aged 62, entered guilty pleas to two offences when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.
Both of his indecent assaults on the boy were committed in North Cumbria during the mid-1980s.
One is said to have occurred during a camping trip in the Lake District. The other is said to have taken place at the defendant's home in North Cumbria.
During a 10-minute hearing was held at the crown court, Beeby spoke only to confirm his name and enter guilty pleas.
No information about the precise nature of the offences was given in court.
But during a previous court appearance, magistrates in Carlisle were told that Beeby was a volunteer scout leader in the county when both incidents occurred.
Judge Forrester was told today that Beeby had been "extremely frank" with police about the offences he had committed.
The judge adjourned his case to a future date and Beeby, now of Edditch Grove, Bolton, will be sentenced in due course.
Having confessed to the two crimes, Beeby is now subject to the sex offender notification requirements.
As a result he must keep police informed about where he is living at all times.
Until his sentencing hearing, Beeby was remanded in conditional bail.
One of the conditions is that he must not contact any prosecution witnesses.
