ATHERTON Collieries manager Michael Clegg insists there will be plenty of spice in tonight's cup derby against Atherton LR.
Colls entertain their local rivals in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase at Alder Street, kick off 7.45pm.
It will more than likely be their only meeting this season following Colls' promotion to the North West Counties League Premier Division, while LR remain in Division One.
And Clegg is hoping for a bumper crowd.
“We thought it would be good to maximise the opportunities for people to come out and watch it," he said, following the switch to a Friday night kick-off.
“We are in good form after taking seven points from the top three league teams.
“It will be an exciting game with a lot of tough tackles as you would expect and there are players who know each other and will want to have the bragging rights."
Colls head into the tie in good form after winning at Nelson last weekend. The three points moved them up to ninth place in the table,10 points behind leaders Bootle.
LR have had a similar start to their campaign and are currently 10th, also 10 points off top spot.
They lost their last match 2-1 against Daisy Hill in the Men United Cup.
Daisy have a tough task if they are to make it back-to-back victories as they travel to NWCL Premier Division side Silsden, also in the FA Vase.
