Forward Mathew Sisca has joined Elite League newcomers Manchester Storm for the 2015-16 season.

The 24-year-old Canadian/Italian, who can play at centre or on the wing, arrives after a season in Austria with Bolzano.

He had a prolific junior career and bagged 172 points (71+101) in the OHL between 2007 and 2011, playing for Niagara IceDogs, Guelph Storm and Saginaw Spirit.

The left-handed shot forward then played his first professional season in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), making an immediate impact and being named in the ECHL All-Rookie Team of 2011-12, along with Andrew Hotham who played for Cardiff Devils last season.

Sisca spent three seasons playing in the ECHL, where he posted 147 points (51+96) in 188 matches for Bakersfield Condors, Cincinnati Cyclones, Orlando Solar Bears and Alaska Aces.

Storm player-coach, Omar Pacha, said: “Matt is a player with great speed and skill.

“He sees the ice very well and has a good shot. He plays all three forward positions and can be used on the point on the powerplay.

“He has good professional experience and is only 24 years old. Matt brings it every night and will make his line-mates better.”

Sisca added: "This is a new chapter in my life and I couldn't be happier being with the Manchester Storm.

"I keep hearing great things about the city and the fanbase we are going to have, so I am excited to get over and start playing.
